DreamCatcher Readership Survey!

Hey guys! I created a little survey to see what kinds of folks I have reading this comic, and I'd really appreciate it if you could take a couple minutes to fill it out! You can find it here!

If you like DC for its writing and characters, check out my webnovel Kody over on Tapas! It's got vampires who are mortal, were-creatures that aren't wolves, and some reluctant humans that have to put up with them all.

Would you still read DC if it moved away from a traditional comic format? (There would still be art.)

Chapter 13: Page 19

September 15th, 2011, 11:00 am

I Say...

Hazumirein says,

Well, there you have it, a small DC geography lesson. More of that to come at the end of the chapter. Also, that was instance 1 (well, not really, I guess) of things in this story noooot always being what they seem.

If you're wondering, "Sanvolae" is basically pronounced like it's spelled--"San-voh-lay".

I'll also tell you that, well, there's a good reason it sounds a bit French. As a matter of fact, I'll make your Question of the Update a small challenge this week: Tell me what French word (phrase?) I took that name from. The pronunciation's more or less the same, I just changed the spelling. Bonus points if you tell me what it means (it makes some sense considering the story).

(No one's going to do this one, haha.)

I also have another question for you guys; do you know what a street team is? Because if you don't, it's essentially a team of fans of something that do things to promote it to other people (post links, tell friends, etc.) in exchange for prizes of some kind. I was thinking I could maybe organize something like that in hopes of getting some more people into DC. Maybe. I've done things like that before and it hasn't necessarily worked well. Buuut I dunno. Would anyone be into that? Let me know.

Also, just for the record, I know I still owe a couple people QotU sketches from like, MONTHS ago, and that I haven't been picking winners lately. I just plain have not had the time. This summer has been insanely busy. It will all be done, I swear, hopefully in a couple weeks when I'm FINALLY out of school for awhile (and likely won't have a lot else to do XD).

And on that note, I shall see you Monday!

And You Say...

Uinn says,

Well I could easily answer that question about Sanvolae...
But that's because I'm French, so I guess it would be cheating ^^"

Captain Ghost says,

Hah! I love her accusatory stare in the first panel...
And I had the EXACT same thought as Riza about the 'Frenchness' of the word hehehe.

Same as Uinn though, I'm French (well... Francophone...?), so... I dunno if you want us answering? o.o

But anyway, it's kind of poetic~

Shiny pokemons!! says,

Stole his Heart right? I dunno... Not very french... Though I am Canadian. XD

zetina says,

...There go a bunch of words that it'll immediately leave through the other side of the brain :'D

LordSeth (Guest) says,

Wow, you got Frenchie fans!

I can't help but wonder which is the 'Antarctica' continent.

A_QueenOfFairys says,

Ohohoho, do I spy a CL song title? Although I wouldn't be surprised if the reference would fly away over a lot of people's heads *cough*

Haven't commented here before, so I'm going to take this opportunity to say that you're an amazing artist with an amazing comic. I think a street team would be a great idea :D

Hazumirein says,

@A_QueenOfFairys: I...cannot believe you actually caught that reference. I almost forgot about it. But yeah, that actually is where I originally got the word that eventually became the planet name. Wow. Good job. And thanks :D

And to everyone else, sorry there's no page today. It'll be up at some point tomorrow. 30-ish hours of work this weekend, plus school and other obligations did not leave much comic time.

Comments, anyone?
