DreamCatcher Readership Survey!

Hey guys! I created a little survey to see what kinds of folks I have reading this comic, and I'd really appreciate it if you could take a couple minutes to fill it out! You can find it here!

If you like DC for its writing and characters, check out my webnovel Kody over on Tapas! It's got vampires who are mortal, were-creatures that aren't wolves, and some reluctant humans that have to put up with them all.

If you like monsters, why not check out my Society6 shop:

Would you still read DC if it moved away from a traditional comic format? (There would still be art.)

Chapter 22: Page 5

August 4th, 2014, 11:00 am

I Say...

Hazumirein says,

My immediate issue with this page is that there was no easy way to make Xan's sword in the...fifth?...panel easily visible, short of using lineart, which I didn't want to do because I haven't for his sword before. I guess all the light tones there are just working against me. WHATEVER, you get the idea I think. (Meanwhile, I just realized that's not the only GLARING ARTISTIC ERROR UGH in this page.)

That aside, this page might remind you of another scene--and it should.

ANYWAY, since the last time I put an actual page up, the site has been updated and I've got at least SOME of the other stuff I planned on done. Not as much as I would like, naturally, but some of it. I've been trying to work out ways to like...actually interact with you guys more and get you involved, which is where the whole "help me with chapter summaries!" thing came from (thanks for that, by the way).

On top of that, for starters, I'd like to reinstate the Question of the Update contests, which I kind of just...stopped doing awhile ago. Basically, when I give you a QotU, everyone that answers is written down, and at the end of each month, I take all of those names and use a random number generator to pick one winner, and that person gets a sketch request (single character, full body, probably not much in the way of shading or background). The more questions you answer, the more chances you have to be picked. So yeah, since it's the beginning of the month, we're gonna do that again, so get answering.

That said, your ACTUAL question is: Why do you think Maya has such an easy time transforming into an animal, while Riza can't do it at all?

And You Say...

LouLouBaBa says,

Love the new page! And nice to see Xan again!
To answer the question, uhhh, she's had more practice?

ScottishWolf says,

Kick him in the privates! And.... Reasons?

Soriel (Guest) says,

Maya is not scared of her feral form. The feral form seems to be the manifestation of a higher animal spirit and Riza is scared of that being. She might have already subconciously contacted that being and it didn't go well.

If I had to make it interesting, that's how I would put the story together.

TCRanch says,

hey! im back! anyways i belive that she and the panther have similar personalities while Riza and the wolf's personalties clash, more specifically, Riza is scared that the wolf inside her will cause her to change, possibly making her cold-blooded. But thats just a theory. A ga- err, comic theory!

Hazumirein says,

@TCRanch: In case you were wondering, I got that reference and Game Theory is a pretty rad show.

zz Digital (Guest) says,

Man, I like both soriel's and TCRanch's ideas. Can I just copy them?

more involved...
*looks at social media stuff on his computer* Well, I've got a tumblr and a skype. Anyone else got a Skype? We can get a group chat going. Two guesses what my screen name is. First one doesn't count.

Comments, anyone?
